CCPH offers quality veterinary services including:
- Yearly wellness exams
This package includes a thorough medical exam, necessary core vaccinations, fecal exam, heartworm test, and a courtesy toenail trim if needed. A complete veterinary exam at least once a year is the best way to identify potential problems and improve the overall health of your pet. - Home Again Microchips
Microchipping your pet is the best way of ensuring a safe return should your pet ever get lost. The microchip is a permanent identification for your pet that is placed under the skin between the shoulder blades with no more discomfort than a simple vaccination. You just fill out the paperwork and our staff registers the microchip for you with the Home Again Database! Then, should your pet ever get lost, a simple call will be able to reunite you with your pet. All veterinarians and animal shelters have microchip scanners and will always scan found pets to check for identification. - Outpatient treatments
Many short procedures can be done while you are in the clinic with your pet, including ear flushings, anal gland expression, minor laceration repair, treatment of skin wounds, and many more. - Full service laboratory
Laboratory analysis is an important part of diagnosing a sick pet. We have the capability of running on-site complete blood counts, blood chemistries and electrolytes, urinalysis and urine cultures, fecal analysis, skin and ear cytology, and several quick tests for pancreatitis, heartworm disease, Feline Leukemia/FIV, Giardia infections, tick-borne diseases and Parvoviral infections. In addition, we have the capabilities of running in-house exotics blood profiles and thyroid testing. We also can send out for such tests as endocrine disease panels, histopathology, cultures, and more. - Radiographs
X-rays are a key tool to see inside your pet's body when trying to diagnose an illness such as heart disease or bladder stones. Regular and contrast radiographs can be performed on site. - Ultrasound
Ultrasound allows visualization of the organs of the body and can give the doctors a better idea of underlying problems. Examples of diagnoses made by ultrasound include bladder stones, gall bladder disease, cancers in the liver and spleen, kidney disease, and the causes of heart failure. - Hospitalization
Many pets need to be monitored throughout the day if they are ill or being regulated on certain medications. We provide full hospitalization services during the day. After hours, your pet can be transferred to the local emergency clinic if constant monitoring is necessary. CCPH also has a separate isolation ward so that the other hospitalized pets are not in direct contact with any potential contagious diseases. - Dentistry
Dental care is an important part of routine care for your dog, cat, ferret, rabbit or rodent. We offer complete dental cleanings, which include polishing and fluoride treatments, as well as information on home dental care to better protect your dog from the bacteria that causes dental disease. We also have the capabilities to perform dental x-rays, give antibiotic gel injections for infected teeth, and extract teeth if necessary. - Surgery
All three doctors perform surgeries including spays, neuters, front declaws for cats, hernia repairs, ear hematoma repair, mass removals, and a variety of soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Certain soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, neurosurgery, and ocular surgeries are referred to board certified surgeons when appropriate. We also have a surgical laser that can help reduce the risk of bleeding. - Pharmacy
Most medications that your pet might need are kept on site. If necessary, we can write prescriptions for a human pharmacy or local animal compounding pharmacy to meet any need you may have. - Harmony Pain Management Laser Therapy
This innovative new therapy is used to manage arthritis pain, intervertebral disk disease, sprains, and can help speed healing of wounds such as anal gland abscesses, lick granulomas and chronic ear infections. We have seen a drastic improvement in many of our older patients with chronic arthritis. The laser is quick, painless, and allows us to reduce the amount of oral medication. - In House Flea Allergy Testing
This 15 minute test allows us to see if your dog or cat is allergic to fleas. Flea allergies account for a large portion of symptoms that we see, especially if a flea preventative is not used year round. The pets are allergic to the flea saliva, so a very small number of fleas can produce symptoms. This means your pet may be exposed to fleas even if you don't see any! This quick test will help us to eliminate flea allergy as a potential curable cause of your pet's allergies.
Before Your Appointment
There are a few things you can do before bringing your pet in for an appointment to reduce the amount of time you spend waiting to see the doctor. If this is your first time at CCPH, please download and fill out the new client forms listed under the Important Documents heading. If you own an exotic animal be sure to include your pet's species-specific husbandry sheet. By arriving 10 minutes early, we can make sure that you have all the appropriate forms filled out and that you are in an exam room at your scheduled appointment time. Please bring all current medical records, including vaccination history and any medications your pet may be taking, so the doctor will be able to know what your pet needs.
